Chopin Rye Vodka — Poland's Red-Capped Rye Champion
Rye 40% ABV ABV Chopin DistilleryMy new favourite vodka
Third bottle in and it just gets better. The nose opens with dried herbs — I also picked up cracked black pepper that the review mentions. On the palate, toasted bread is spot on, and there's a with robust rye spice that makes this incredibly smooth. The finish closes with a satisfying warmth. This has become my go-to. Makes an incredible Martini too.
Decent everyday vodka
A reliable pour that won't blow your mind but does the job. The nose has with distinctive rye bread — the review is accurate there. The palate gives you a peppery warmth, which is fine but a bit safe. I keep reaching for other bottles when I want to sip neat, but for cocktails it's hard to complain. The finish is clean.
Disappointing for the price
Bit disappointed. The nose is fine — I got some Bold and spicy — but on the palate it's too one-dimensional. At £39.75, I expect more character. The finish drops off quickly. The tasting notes in the review didn't match my experience. Might work better in cocktails than neat.
Nice but slightly overpriced
Good quality spirit but slightly overpriced for what it is. The Bold and spicy is the highlight — dried herbs and well-presented. On the palate, the delivering genuine presence on the palate is fine but not exciting. At £39.75, I'd expect more character. The finish is pleasant but brief. A reliable mixer.
