Tasting Notes

Nose

Delicate and elegant, with soft white bread, gentle vanilla, and a clean floral note. Lighter and more refined than the rye sibling.

Palate

Silky smooth with a gentle wheat sweetness, soft vanilla, and a light, airy quality. The texture is beautifully fine-grained and almost ethereal.

Finish

Clean and medium-length with a gentle sweetness and silky fade.

Chopin's Single Ingredient Vodka Collection is a masterclass in how base ingredients shape the character of vodka. The potato expression is rich and creamy, the rye is bold and spicy, and this wheat expression is the lightest, most elegant of the three — a spirit of genuine delicacy and refinement.

Made entirely from Polish wheat, this is quadruple-distilled to achieve a remarkable purity while retaining the subtle character of the grain. The nose is delicate — soft white bread, gentle vanilla, and a clean floral note that immediately signals sophistication. On the palate, the wheat sweetness is gentle and nuanced, with a silky texture that glides across the tongue.

Where the rye Chopin demands attention, the wheat Chopin earns it quietly. The light, airy quality makes it supremely versatile — equally suited to sipping neat from the freezer or mixing into cocktails where subtlety is prized over assertiveness.

Chopin themselves recommend serving this in a 'CEO' — their take on a dry Martini, made with Chopin Wheat and garnished with extra olives. It is a superb suggestion, as the delicate wheat character pairs beautifully with olive brine in a way that bolder vodkas cannot match.

At £39.75, Chopin Wheat sits alongside its siblings in the premium bracket, and it earns its place there. A vodka of genuine elegance from one of Poland's finest distilleries.

Bit disappointed. The nose is fine — I got some Delicate and elegant — but on the palate it's too one-dimensional. At £39.75, I expect more character. The finish drops off quickly. The tasting notes in the review didn't match my experience. Might work better in cocktails than neat.
