Smirnoff Vanilla does what it says on the tin — reliable Smirnoff Red with a decent vanilla flavouring. It is not going to win any craft spirit awards, but for vanilla-spiked cocktails and a cheeky vanilla vodka and cola, it is perfectly fit for purpose at a fair price.

Mixed feelings. On the nose I got the Straightforward and pleasant — that part is nice. But the Works better in cocktails than neat didn't match the promise for me. Mid-palate feels a bit thin. Still, it's better than many bottles at this price and the Short with lingering vanilla sweetness is reasonable. Worth trying at least once, especially in a Martini.
