Tasting Notes

Nose

Herbal and bittersweet, with dried fruit, old spice cabinet notes and a gentle oxidative character. Unmistakably vintage.

Palate

Complex and layered, with bitter herbs, dried citrus peel and a gentle vodka warmth underneath. The decades of bottle age have softened everything beautifully.

Finish

Long and herbal, with lingering bitterness and a dry, spicy close.

A fascinating piece of drinks history, this 1970s bottling of Pimm's No.6 Cup — the vodka-based variant — offers a glimpse into a bygone era. The spirit has mellowed and developed complexity over the decades, making it a collector's piece as much as a drinking proposition.

Victor Osei VIPsAllowed — Disappointing for the price
4/10

Bit disappointed. The nose is fine — I got some Herbal and bittersweet — but on the palate it's too one-dimensional. At £199.00, I expect more character. The spicy close drops off quickly. The tasting notes in the review didn't match my experience. Might work better in cocktails than neat.

What a beautifully crafted spirit. The nose gives you Unmistakably vintage and lovely character, and on the palate it's all about with bitter herbs. The mouthfeel is particularly impressive — silky, full, and rewarding. The finish rounds everything off with spicy close. Anyone who says all vodka tastes the same hasn't tried this. The review here nails it.
